What we build

We take on the whole job — clearing and digging the site, putting the structure up, running the plumbing and finishing the inside. One crew, start to finish.

New construction

Ground-up builds on your lot. We handle the dig, the foundation prep, framing and the finish work, and we keep you in the loop at every stage so there are no surprises when you walk through it.

Six things we do, and we do them on the same job site. That is the point of running a construction company and a plumbing company side by side — you are not chasing four contractors to finish one house.

New construction

We build houses from a bare lot up. That starts with clearing and grading, goes through foundation, framing and roof, and ends with you turning a key. Because our own crew runs the excavator and our own plumber sets the lines, the schedule does not stall waiting on somebody else’s truck.

You get one point of contact from the first estimate to the final walkthrough.

Home additions

When the house is right but there is not enough of it: an extra bedroom, a bigger kitchen, a master suite, a garage, a sunroom or a second story. The hard part of an addition is making it look like it was always there, and that comes down to matching the roofline, the siding and the trim.

We handle footings and foundation for the new section, tie into the existing structure, and run the mechanicals through to finish.

Remodeling

Kitchens, bathrooms, basements and whole-house updates. Most remodels happen in a house somebody is still living in, so we work clean, keep the dust contained and pick the site up at the end of every day.

Having our own plumber matters most here — moving a sink or adding a basement bathroom stops being a scheduling problem.

Excavation

Dirt work for our own builds and as a standalone service for yours. If you need a hole dug, a pad cut, a lot leveled or a trench run, we have the machines and the operator.

Small residential jobs are welcome — we are not too big to come dig one footing.

A family business, out of Union

G n H Construction LLC is owned and run by Greg Hansel and family. We work out of Union, Missouri, and cover Franklin County, St. Louis County and the counties around them.

We have spent years doing every part of this trade — running the excavator, pouring the footings, framing the walls, setting the fixtures. That is the reason we can take a project from a bare lot to a finished house without handing it off to four different outfits. It also means that when you call, you are talking to the people who will actually be standing on your property.

Paul’s Plumbing runs alongside the construction side. Having a plumber in the family business is not a sales line; it is the difference between a remodel that waits three weeks for a rough-in and one that keeps moving.

Do you charge for estimates?

Cash, check and credit cards. We will go over the payment schedule for your job when we give you the estimate.

Do you build new homes from the ground up?

Yes. We build on your lot and handle site clearing and grading, foundation, framing, plumbing rough-in and interior finish with one crew, from the first estimate to the final walkthrough.

Do you handle all the trades, or do I need other contractors?

Yes, we handle the whole job. Framing, roofing, siding, plumbing, electrical and the finish work all run through us, so you are not lining up four separate contractors to get one house done. Paul’s Plumbing covers the plumbing on every build, addition and remodel we take on, and also takes plumbing-only calls on its own.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry insurance, and we are a chamber member.

Will you take small jobs?

Yes. We are not too big to dig one footing, haul a single load of rock, or remodel one bathroom.
